New format of eTDS Returns from 1-Oct-2009
From October 1st 2009 onwards, organizations would need to file their eTDS returns in a new format as specified by the Income Tax Department.
The new format contains information on the name of the software generating the returns and the category of the deductor. This eTDS file should be validated using the File Validation Utility (FVU) version 2.128. A new feature of the FVU 2.128 is the facility to compare the challan information available in the returns against the information available with the Income Tax Department. You can find additional information on how to use the comparision utility on our wiki site.
This new requirements has been completely incorporated into Greytip Online application. All returns generated for Q2 of financial year 2009-2010 onwards will be generated in the new format.
As has been our constant endeavour, we keep the application up to date on all the statutory changes that keep happening.
There is still no word yet on Form 17 and Form 24C. We will keep you posted as and when there is further action on this.
