New, improved Excel Importer module
One of the powerful features of Greytip Online is our extensive set of Excel importers. Virtually any piece of required information can be uploaded to Greytip Online from an Excel spreadsheet (employee information, attendance, payroll data, tax declarations, anything).
Excel importers drastically cut down data entry work, eliminate input errors and speed up work. We have revamped our exporters and added additional features to make them even more powerful.
Improved, simpler UI
Earlier, importers were classified into various categories. To choose an importer, you had to know which group it belongs to and then select the required importer. This could lead to hunting and frustration if you forgot the category of an importer.
We have eliminated the two level selection of importers with a single selection list. Just type the partial name of the importer you are interested in (e.g. sal for salary) and all relevant importers are automatically shortlisted and shown to you.
Full control of master value import
The import data may contain some master values like location, bank, department, etc. Earlier, either these values were automatically imported and added to the list of values (LOV) or you first had to update the list of values and then do your import.
We have improved this by providing a new page where you can review all the new master values that are present in the input file. For each new value you can add it as a new value or map it to some existing value. This should help in avoiding duplicate entries due to spelling errors and keep your database in top shape.
Import history
You can now get complete history of all imports that have been done, the original source Excel file that was imported and the detailed log generated during the import process.
Payroll process cheat-sheet to guide you
Processing payroll is not a simple task. Except for the smallest of organizations, there are umpteen tasks to do before you can say payroll processing is done for the month. However, because of the variety of tasks to be done, it's easy to forget or miss out something leading to mistakes and rework. We now offer you a simple solution to guide new users and to ensure high quality of work every time.
The cheat-sheet is alway available just a click away. When you don't need it, close it and it slinks away to its hiding place.
The cheat-sheet provides detailed guidelines to help you with payroll processing in a step by step manner. At every step you are provided information about what you need to do, why, how to do it, where to do it, and also a help link to the relevant wiki topic. If you have completed the step, just mark it as done and you will be presented with the next step. You also have the option to skip a step.
Keep following the cheat-sheet and tick off tasks without having to remember everything you need to do or the order in which it must be done. At the end, you pleasantly find all you work perfectly done without any slip-ups. High quality results, every month!
LIC Insurance Policy Related Features
LIC Agent
This is a new type of payroll component that lets you capture employees' LIC insurance policy details. Once configured, the premium amount is automatically deducted during the payroll processing every month.
LIC Report
A statement showing total amount of premium paid on a particular month is available.
LIC Importer
An excel importer is available for mass import of employees insurance details into Greytip Online.
Other payroll features
Income Tax Agent
We now provide additional options to calculate monthly income tax based on employees workdays.
Loan Agent
- We have now removed the constraint that loans must start from first of a month. Now loan start date can be anything.
- The interest amount is automatically prorated during the first month deduction.
Flexible Benefit Plan Alerts
An intimation email can be sent to employees whenever FBP declaration is released or locked. An option is available to enable or disable this feature.
Miscellany
- Reimbursements: Employees can now withdraw a reimbursement request they have applied for.
- Auto-mailing of password to employees on password expiry (with option to enable/disable this feature)
Payment Alert
Last and also the least, a tiny set of our customers forget paying their Greytip Online dues and then feel guilty about it. We have solved their pain with a simple payment alert in the admin user's home page. If there is a payment due, they'll know every time they log in to Greytip Online. With this nifty feature, we bring smiles back to our esteemed customers, rid them of their guilt and eliminate unnecessary interruptions.
